Journal of Applied Marketing Science (JOAMS) is the official journal of Tanzania marketing science association. The journal publishes high quality research papers in all fields of marketing. The Journal is interested in both theoretical and applied research with an emphasis on topics in branding, digital marketing, consumer behaviour, relational marketing, industrial marketing, market research, and related marketing disciplines.

  • Manuscripts copy editing and proofreading
  • Once the manuscript arrives on editor’s desk, the assessment process is initiated. The manuscript are assessed for completeness by the editor. Text, figures, number of words and auxiliary material are checked, and also ensure that there is the necessary permission for the use of third-party copyright material in the work. The manuscript will then be sent out for review to ensure quality and content. After the review, the manuscript with reviewers’ comments are sent to the author so that the reviewers’ concerns are addressed and the manuscript is improved

Copyediting and typesetting

Once accepted, the manuscript are assigned to a production editor, whose job is to oversee all the production processes from unedited manuscript to final files for print and electronic publication. The production editor are the primary contact during production.

The first stage of production is copyediting. Copyediting is the process of improving the accuracy, organization, and style of text and artwork. The copyeditor’s core responsibility is to make the copy clear, correct, concise, comprehensible, and consistent. The manuscript are copyedited and then sent to the typesetter for the text layout.

Proofreading

The manuscript from the typesetter is sent to the editor for check-up. At this stage the manuscript are supplied as editable PDFs.

Once the proofreading is complete, the corrections are sent to the typesetter for them to be incorporated. The production editor will then ensures that all proof corrections have been accurately made.

JOAMS-Journal is an online journal and it is a combination of open access and available by subscription.

  • The JOAMS-Journal is a peer-reviewed journal publishing high-quality, original research. This journal only publishes manuscripts in English and for the paper to be published, the following should be observed:

The paper should be original. 

The paper should be compiled in the following order: title page; structured abstract; keywords; main text introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion; conclusion and references.

Papers should be submitted in Word format. Table(s) and figure(s) should appear within main text.

A classic paper for this journal should be no more than 7,000 words, inclusive of tables, references and figure captions.

The paper should be written in Times New Roman, font size 12, spacing 1.15 and should be consistent within the manuscript.

Long quotations should be indented without quotation marks.

Use third person writing style (e.g., this paper, it is argued, this analysis, etc.), not first person (e.g., I, we, my, etc.).

Tables, Maps and Diagrams: Italicise the titles for tables, maps and diagrams. Indicate the source(s) where tables, maps and diagrams originated.

Heading Within Chapters: Major headings should be in bold and in capital letters while subheadings should be bold and in lower case. Each first letter of the content word should be capitalised. Both headings (major and sub) should be as short as possible, numbers should be used to distinguish different parts of a paper at not more than three levels; e.g. 1.1.1, 1.2.1, 1.2.2 etc.

References: References should follow the American Psychological Association (APA) style (latest edition – 7th edition).

Using references in text: For APA, you use the authors’ surnames only and the year in text. If you are using a direct quote, you will also need to use a page number.

Indexing-The journal is indexed in various indices.
